Canadian singer-songwriter Bill Wood is set to appear on the live YouTube series Artists Unloaded on May 10 at 7 p.m. EST.

The episode will feature an in-depth conversation about Wood’s decades-long music career, songwriting process and personal journey, followed by an intimate live studio performance.

Hosted as a musician-to-musician interview series, Artists Unloaded focuses on candid conversations about “the craft, the life and the grind,” while showcasing live performances from featured guests.

Wood is best known as the former lead vocalist for Juno-nominated Canadian band Eye Eye, known for songs including “Out on a Limb,” “Endless Night” and “My Sensation.” After stepping away from the mainstream music industry in the early 1990s, Wood continued writing songs while building a life outside the spotlight.

Over the years, his experiences working as a home renovator, woodworker and support worker in the shelter and housing sector have deeply influenced his songwriting. His personal struggles with addiction and volunteer work supporting marginalized youth have also shaped the emotional honesty found throughout his music.

Today, Wood fronts Bill Wood and The Woodies, a Toronto-based group known for blending folk, rock and Americana influences with deeply personal storytelling.

The band features veteran Toronto musicians Mark Shannon, Chris Bennett and Dino Naccarato, each bringing decades of recording and performance experience to the group’s sound.

The appearance on Artists Unloaded comes just ahead of the May 18 release of the band’s new album, Same Old Hurt.
